Butterfly pinning class “Pieris rapae”

  • Humboldt Park at the Big Hill Chicago, IL, 60622 United States (map)

Learn to pin your very own butterfly! All materials including the butterfly will be provided by me. You’ll be leaving this class with a fully pinned butterfly as well as all the materials and skills needed to repeat the process on your own.

Note this isn’t a butterfly framing class, as the butterfly will need to dry before it can be framed.

This is a mask-required event, and any negative COVID-19 test results will grant you $5 off the $35 class.

After meeting near “the big hill” on the Kedzie Avenue side of Huboldt Park, the class will take place at a two-minute leisurely pace away on the second floor of a building with no elevator. The room will have two air purifiers running for the duration of the class. I also have two cats, which will be secured in another room. You’ll get to see all of the bugs I raise as a perk of the class (including Beef).

The butterflies for this class are invasive, and I catch them myself in the park.

Trans and POC individuals receive an additional $5 off.

All payment info can be found on the home page of this website.
